A research fellowship opportunity is available in a neuroimmunology laboratory conducting research on neuromyelitis optica (NMO). This fellow will characterize T cells specific for the NMO autoantigen, aquaporin-4 (AQP4) in NMO patients. Using mouse models, the fellow will investigate central (thymic) and peripheral immune mechanisms regulating selection of pathogenic AQP4-specific T cells. Fellow will work under the direct guidance of Dr. Zamvil and his team. A background in T cell immunology is advantageous. Salary support is available for a minimum of two years.
